Cold Winter Storm and We Lack Heat

Posted by: Leisa  :  Category: Dancing Through History

We get winter storms all the time and there isn’t anything about this storm that makes it colder than usual outside, but inside the temperature is dropping quickly.  But our heater went out this morning, making it considerably colder on the inside.  There’s a lose wire that turns the gas on and off into the house that keeps shorting out.  So basically we have no hot water either.

Here’s what it is looking like outside right now.  The snow isn’t really that deep.  I live now in a part of the city that doesn’t get much snow.  Growing up we’d end up with 18 inches overnight, and probably averaged eight inches a storm.

It is supposed to keep snowing for quite some time.  I’ll take another photo later.

I haven’t done my holiday baking yet so it looks like today would be a great day to do it.  The heat from the oven will help heat the upstairs.

What I’d really like to do is snuggle up in front of a fireplace with a good book, a thick quilt, and a cup of hot cocoa. But I’ve just got to much to do. Oh, and I don’t have a fireplace. It snowed like this during our recent stay at Snowbird and we sat in the outdoor hot-tub during the storm.  But I have no hot-tub today either.
