Our Week at the Cliff Spa at Snowbird

Posted by: Leisa  :  Category: Dancing Through History, Traveling Dance Troupe

We just returned from spending a week at the Cliff Lodge at the Snowbird ski resort in Utah.  I spent the week watching movies, and playing games with the kids, and taking yoga and fitness classes, working out in the weight room, sitting in the hot tub, the dry sauna, or the steam room at the Cliff Spa.

We had a three bedroom condo.  Each room had their own balcony.  The middle balcony had a private hot-tub.  Photos we shot from the balcony on different days.

This was one of the breathtaking views from the Body-Mind-Spirt studio at the Cliff Club and Spa.  The studio is managed by Bonnie O’Neal and she does a fantastic job.  This is where we took the yoga and fitness classes.  There is something really special about doing yoga here.

Setting Sail on the BookWise Cruise

Posted by: Leisa  :  Category: Traveling Dance Troupe

Craig and I set sail on a the BookWise cruise today, June 14th, 2008. We won a trip for one so it was nice not having to pay for the entire trip ourselves. This was our first vacation in years and the first one Craig and I had been on together (without kids) in seventeen years. (Well, except for some camping trips 17 years ago).

We left Salt Lake City a little after six o’clock in the morning and had a lay-over in Las Vegas, NV. There is where we met up with some BookWise affiliates, Christine and Dave, and got to know them a little better. We arrived in San Diego around 11:00 a.m. and headed for the pier. Some time later we boarded our ship, the Elation with Carnival cruise lines. We dropped off our bags in our room and headed straight for the buffet for lunch.

As we were leaving port, around 4:00 PM, we…

enjoyed the view of the San Diego Skyline …

and we watched the seals sunbathing, on a cloudy day.

That night we enjoyed dinner in the formal dining room and saw a shark right outside our window…

we watched Stan and Roslyn enjoy some dancing…

and most of us sang a little karaoke together.

But my favorite part was that I just sat back and relaxed. And honestly, it was probably the first time in years.
